2023 has been a year after all sorts of challenges for the past 12 months. It is a year of the rabbit, to be celebrated in peace and harmony. To liven up this celebration, a Lunar New Year Open House was held for the very first time at Dorsett Putrajaya on the 31st of January 2023 – with Muhibbah being the main theme for this momentous affair.

On this occasion, Dorsett Putrajaya welcomed corporate and media partners as a token of appreciation for the assistance and support for the activities as well as campaigns throughout the years.

One of the highlights of this open house celebration is the introduction of 88 new rooms on Level 1 and 2 – making it a total of 305 guest rooms.

Dorsett Putrajaya also took this opportunity to introduce 5 new function rooms for various activities and events. It’s expandable into a ballroom that can accommodate up to 800 pax.

Meanwhile, it’s incomplete to promote the concept of ‘Muhibbah’ without including the latest line of chefs at Dorsett Putrajaya – who are made up of multiracial talented chefs. Also, for the very first time, Dorsett Putrajaya features Chinese, Malay and Indian chefs with extensive culinary experiences to suit the diverse tastes of guests.

Chef Wong Hoow Kong, has been appointed as Chinese Sous Chef, Chef Ahmad Fuad Abd Malik as Sous Chef focuses on traditional Malay and local dishes while Chef K Manimagala focuses on Indian cuisine.

Chef Wong, 41, originally from Puchong, Selangor, has over 20 years of experience in the culinary field of hotels and convention centers. Among his specialty dishes is Kam Heong Seafood.

Chef Ahmad Fuad, 44, hails from Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, with over 21 years of experience managing hotel kitchens throughout Peninsular Malaysia. Chef Ahmad Fuad is famous for his traditional Malay cuisine such as Masak Lemak Daging Salai and Asam Pedas Ikan Merah.

While Chef Manimagala or popularly known as “Aunty Mani” at Dorsett Putrajaya has been working in the kitchens of clubs and hotels since 1992.

The 54-year-old Chef Manimagala, originally from Singapore and currently living in Cheras, is famous for her Fish Head Curry dish, the recipe of which she got from her grandmother.

These three chefs can be seen daily at CitraRasa Restaurant, Dorsett Putrajaya.
